Session Preparation

You will receive this same information in an email after booking your appointment.

Session Details

Zoom:

  • Most sessions are accomplished through zoom but in person sessions are available by special request.
  • If you do not have the necessary tech for a zoom call, no worries, we can make other arrangements. Please call my office to discuss other session alternatives.

Session Length:

  • The initial Session will last 90-120 min and will include a collaborative discussion about your hypnosis session and time for reflection after the session to discuss your experience.
  • Subsequent sessions last from 60-90 min and will include time for discussion before and after the hypnosis portion.

Creating a Relaxing & Supportive Space

  • Choose a quiet, comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed.
  • A bed or a recliner chair is ideal for relaxation.
  • Consider having a cozy blanket, a pillow, or anything that helps you feel at ease.
  • You may prefer a dimly lit room or using an eye cover to deepen relaxation.
  • Using headphones is highly recommended for a more immersive experience.
  • Please position your phone or computer camera so I can clearly see your face during the session.
  • Ensure your device is fully charged or plugged in to avoid interruptions.
  • Turn off all notifications and silence electronics to prevent distractions.
  • Use the bathroom before we begin so you can remain fully relaxed throughout the session.

Preparing Your Mind & Body

  • Take time before the session to settle in and ground yourself. Preparing your space and engaging in a brief ritual beforehand can help you enter the session feeling centered and receptive.
    You might try:
    1. Gentle breathing exercises or meditation
    2. Listening to calming music
    3. Burning Palo Santo, sage, or using essential oils if you enjoy them
  • Limit caffeine the morning of your appointment to support a deeper state of relaxation.
  • Have everything set up ahead of time so you can begin in a relaxed, focused state without distractions.

The Science of Hypnosis: What to Expect

    Hypnosis is a natural and deeply relaxed state; similar to the moments just before you fall asleep or when you become absorbed in a calming activity, like daydreaming or getting lost in a good book. During hypnosis, your brainwave activity naturally slows down, helping your mind become calmer and more receptive. This creates an ideal state for processing thoughts and emotions in a way that supports healing and positive change. You will remain aware and in control throughout the session, simply allowing yourself to follow the guidance with ease.

    If We Get Disconnected

    In the rare event that we lose connection, simply return to the Zoom link and we will resume the session. This will not affect the effectiveness of your experience in any way.

    After the Session

    • We will have a brief discussion to allow space for you to share and process your experience. This is optional
    • Take a few moments to remain still and integrate the experience before moving on with your day.
    • Drinking water and journaling any insights can be helpful.
    • You will receive a recording of our session through a protected server. I encourage you to listen to it multiple times, as repeated listening can deepen the benefits and reinforce positive changes.
